As the Chrysler 300C concept rolled onto the stage, design chief Trevor Creed said: "It's high time somebody did the classic American car." And the 300C is certainly a good old-fashioned American sedan: big at 196.8 inches long, rear-wheel drive, and powered by a honking 5.7 liter V-8 delivering more than 300 horsepower and 350 pound feet of torque. The concept previews Chrysler's upcoming LX sedan series, of which the V-8--engined 300C will be the range topper. The suspension architecture and other components have come from Mercedes-Benz. The 300C will go on sale in early 2004 as an '05 model: it won't look much different from the concept, except that eighteen-inch wheels and tires will supplant the show car's twenty-inche

"The Chrysler Pacifica cannot be binned in any existing automotive category, it's an all-new segment that will follow the success of our original minivan and PT Cruiser," said Dieter Zetsche, President and CEO of the Chrysler Group. "Chrysler Pacifica is a sports tourer with the right formula of proportions, packaging, performance and appearance that will set it far apart from our competition. With its low step-in height, first class seating, three rows of seats, and car-like handling, there is nothing else like it in the marketplace."

The Chrysler California Cruiser was a concept car created by DaimlerChrysler. It debuted at the 2002 Paris Motor Show. The California Cruiser shows the possible future design of the Chrysler PT Cruiser. It also has the ability to convert to a "hotel room" for two.

The California Cruiser uses a 2.4 L turbocharged I4 engine. Inside, the California Cruiser uses silver inserts on the door trim, quarter panels, and a hatchback trim. The Cruiser also has an integrated stereo system in the liftgate. The exterior is suited for the average surfer (hence the name, since California is famous for its surfers). The fog lamps on the California Cruiser are a visible difference since the 2006 PT Cruiser uses similar-looking fog lamps.

DaimlerChrysler has long made a practice of hiding its future products in plain sight. The original
Dodge Viper, Plymouth Prowler, and Plymouth Pronto Cruiser concept cars are proof that many of the company's show toys end up rolling down the assembly line in one form or another. The key to the GT Cruiser's production potential is its 2.4L turbocharged four, which betters the stock Cruiser's 150-hp output by an impressive 50 horses.

Engine and Performance

The Citadel is powered by a 189-kW (253-hp), 3.5-L, V6 gasoline engine in the rear wheels and an electric one in the front wheels. This combination of powers gives better performace in the rear. The Chrysler Pronto Cruizer was a concept car created by the DaimlerChrysler brand, Chrysler. The Pronto Cruizer was first introduced at the 1999 Geneva Auto Show. The Pronto Cruizer is one of the most famous concept cars of all time since it was not only the foundation of the famous Chrysler PT Cruiser, but was also recreated by toy car maker Maisto.

The Pronto Cruizer had a 1.6 L I4 engine with a five-speed manual transmission borrowed from the second generation Dodge Neon. The design was also derived from the Neon, but with elements borrowed from another DaimlerChrysler concept car, the Plymouth Pronto. The Pronto Cruizer had a grille and fenders that rivaled the one used on the unique Plymouth Prowler. A roll-back fabric top was used on the Pronto Cruizer as well.
